Die tryin (and don’t get rich) or the life and death of projects.

Behind scKruuhk are 3 festivals : UH Fest has been grinding for 20 years with the same founder when Kraak has known 4 different teams on the driving wheel in the same time frame. Meanwhile schiev has decided for an indefinite hiatus after 10 years on the field.

we’ve also seen a wave of labels dear to our heart and constitutive of what we feel like “our”  aesthetic closing shop, from the french Syndicat des scorpions to the Prague Genot Center or – geographically closer to us – Entr’acte, Tanuki or Ekster.

we feel that every project question now and then the idea of keeping on – in a field where most of the work is done pro bono : why are we doing it ? is it worth the hassle ?
with that in mind, we realized that we rarely discuss and question the idea of the projects death, or of the ways to make them practically immortal : when is it « too much » ? do project have a life cycle ? what are the right strategies to keep on ?

in this panel moderated by Camille Loiseau we’ll discuss packing pricey vynils when kids are in bed, filling tax sheets before going to work your day job or negotiating with a very unpleasant agent during a family reunion with the following people :

Gabriela Gonzáles Rondon (KRAAK / Krut Records)

Catherine Plenevaux (Lexi Disques)

Yoann Janssens (Stainage / Maloca)
